"Does not contain spyware...GUARANTEED!"
Pros: I am the author of this program. I assure you it does not contain any spyware, malware, or viruses of any kind. It does come bundled with our toolbar which is completely optional during install. The toolbar is from Conduit.com and simply contains a Google searchbox and some link buttons which point to pages on our site and some partner sites, and an online radio. Nothing malicious. And like I said, you can opt out of installing the toolbar and still install Cool Timer free of charge...no limitations. Some people are too paranoid and should think about how badly their comments might hurt people's reputations before they just assume everyone is some huge company out to make a buck.

"Great for viewing monitor at a distance"
Pros: For countdown timers that I've tried, this is the best for enlarging on your screen. I currently use it for our monthly television video recording. I sometimes set the screen resolution to 800x600, use the large view option, and mute my laptop. I put the laptop or the secondary monitor right next to my video camera, and the show host doesn't need to see me giving the countdown by hand anymore. It's been a wonderful convenience.
Cons: I've only used version 2.1, not the 3.2 which is currently available. The flaw may have been updated by this release. The problem I'm referring to is that the countdown timer sometimes had a delay, which caused the clock to stop counting down in real time, but was counting down as the system resources would permit. In other words, it might not have been accurate down to the second. I would recommend reading the update history to see if this problem is resolved.
BUT I do have faith enough in this product to continue using it for our television recordings, and I just keep an eye on the count-up feature on the video camera to see if the count-down is off at all.
If a future release permits, I would encourage a countdown timer that does expand to full screen (rather than large view), making the letters as large as possible on the screen, and eliminating any display of the desktop.

Pros: I like the tray feature, since I normally don't like to have a lot of programs open at once.
This timer not only alerts you by playing the alarm that you choose, but also te window will pop-up, which is very helpful when you are studying in the library.
Cons: Could use a face lift to math Vista's aesthetics.

"Straight forward kitchen type timer. Recommended for simplicity"
Pros: Simple. Color choices. Audable choices. Presets.
Cons: I'd like just the time value to show to reduce area. It should be selectable, but the price was right so not really a complaint

Pros: Don't know...i won't install spyware. Download.Com should do a better job testing this stuff.
