Version: My Mileage Genie 1.02
"Is easy to install and easy to use."
Pros: Punch in and Punch out. It's just that simple. I can even enter who I met with that day so my expense reports are up to date and always current. It even caluculates the rate paid times the miles traveled. Submitting expense reports is easy,
Cons: If I go into an appointment in a building for a long period, and MMG loses the GPS coordinates, and I have it set to automatically reobtain a fix, it uses battery. Now I set it to "Ask" and I click on yes when I am outside.
Summary: This product is easy to install and easy to use. It comes with cool little features like the "Auto, Off, or Ask" feature for when you lose a GPS Fix (ie: when you go into a high rise building elevator) which preserves the battery. This enables me to truly punch in at the beginning of the day and punch out at the end of the day. MMG keeps track of my mileage for the day, and even allows me to submitt expenses right from the device. It use to be painfull submitting expenses for mileage and now it is painless.
Other features like the "Reporting Preferences" allow me to define what information I want exported and what information I don't. The list of reporting options is quite extensive. What I also learned from the manual is that MMG could also be a project management tool and allow me to track my time against a project or file. I simply set up a new project, called it R&D, and each time I work on R&D work I punch in. It also allows me track travel and time for R&D too. Pretty cool.
